It all starts with an initial, free, no-obligation conversation. You can call, email, or click my calendar link to set that up.
I can. This service is involved and time-consuming and requires substantial additional charges.
Query letters and book proposals are tools utilized to engage the interest of a literary agent (and, in turn, a publisher) in your book. A query letter invites the literary agent to look at your book proposal and manuscript. It gives the highlights of your book and explains why they should give your book a chance.
A book proposal gives the literary agent:
Business books usually land around 200 pages and take about five months to complete. Memoirs and autobiographies are usually more extensive and take much longer – often nine months to a year. Some of the timelines will be dependent upon your availability and the availability of key people related to your book for interviews. We will agree on a timeline and a cut-off date for my work in the contract.
It depends on the project, and there are a lot of factors at play. We would have to discuss at further length to determine if self publishing is right for you. Having said that, yes, for some authors, it’s not only a viable alternative but the right direction in which to go.
Yes, I don’t ask for large, up-front payments. Instead, after the initial 15% downpayment, my fees are paid in monthly increments split up over the writing and editing timeframe.
Fees vary depending upon the type of book, its length, and the amount of interviewing and research needed to write it. After our initial conversation, I’ll provide a project estimate. You can see the typical fee structure HERE. Overall, my services range from $7,000 to $45,000 per book.
My fee is paid monthly installments over the course of the work with an initial 15% downpayment. I don’t engage in projects involving deferred payments, advances, or royalties. All of my work is included in the price with the exception of any outside expenses (like travel if needed), which are paid by the client.
My focus is mainly on nonfiction writing. But if you have an idea for a novel, and you think I’d be the right guy to write it for you, I’d be happy to have a talk about your vision.
That is the best question in the world, and I’m not allowed to tell you! 😊 Because of the clients that I have worked with across high levels of business, entertainment, politics, and more, I am bound by non-disclosure agreements. After all, nobody wants me out there saying that I wrote their book. 😊 If you choose to work with me, I will protect our partnership in the same way.
I offer a unique contract for each client based on their needs and the uniqueness of the manuscript, but the contracts all include an NDA to protect the client.
No. I’m perfectly willing to be your ghostwriter. I don’t need the credit. If there is a good reason you would like my name on your book (possibly for the credibility of having a co-author), we could have that discussion, but generally, my name doesn’t appear on or in a client’s book.
Yes. I, along with other partners, can help you self publish your book on any of the common self-publishing platforms. We can do it all for you. However, this is a separate service with a separate fee structure than the core writing of the book.
You do. I’m the guy behind the scenes that nobody ever sees or knows about, and I like it that way. My name does not appear on or in your book anywhere. You get all the credit. It’s YOUR BOOK. The rights to the manuscript belong to you.
Yes, a substantial percentage of my clients go the self-publishing route and have reaped the benefits associated with that avenue of publishing. Others opt to lobby literary agents to take on their manuscript and go with the more traditional publishing process.
I work with partners to provide you with total publishing assistance to get your book in print and into distribution channels. We can talk about those services and their related fees.
Jason would be delighted to chat with you and hear your book ideas. Book a No-obligation Talk.
Professionals that operate at the pinnacle of success don’t have time to sit down and write every word of a book. – That’s where I step in to the picture.
